Oct 2008- In This Issue

The theme for this month is foster care, and half a dozen articles approach the subject from a variety of angles. Foster care can obviously be a really powerful influence for good in helping damaged children put their lives together. There are also problems, such as the massive shortfall in foster carers at present. The articles together make a strong case for better resourcing.

There are also articles by the Professional Nanny of the Year, two pieces about leadership and management in nurseries and residential care respectively, an analysis of the significance of the Wizard of Oz and a book review of a key book on Young Children and Racial Justice.

And if you might think of writing for us, don’t miss the short piece on Future Themes – it might give you ideas.
